Crew Green is a new development of bespoke high end substantial properties built on what was a brownfield site. Care has been taken to choose materials that fit into the rural landscape around Crew Green and ensure the new properties ‘blend and match’ with the surroundings.

As far as possible sustainable materials have been chosen, and in some cases reclaimed materials blend in with the new. The main thrust of this development has been to ensure all properties comply with Code 5, the Government’s directive for sustainable housing thermal insulation and energy performance certification.

One unique detail of this development which has been instrumental in achieving the Code 5 certification is the use of shredded newsprint as an insulator within all cavity areas and dry lined stud walls, with an amazing 350 mm of this material in all roof and attic spaces. The development is near completion and the properties are to be launched over Easter by Strutt & Parker
