Contacting Construction Development

A Word from the MD

“The majority of people get hung up on the latest efficiency buzz word. Low carbon footprint, ecology and efficiency in its crudest and simplest form boils down to, in a sensible way, what you can do, what you add and what you can build a property with from local sustainable material at the best cost and the shortest payback.

The overriding issue is once you have put all these clever, technical, trendy solutions into a property they mean little or nothing unless you can contain them within that property so therefore the single biggest solution is air tightness! This is very hard to implement within the existing property however as Bensons move through their programme of new build and development they are striving to use the most technically efficient products, installed in the most conscientious manner to minimise escape.

In a nutshell the right windows sealed; the right insulation, for us that is “Warmcel” and the best membrances conscientiously install to achieve ultimate air tightness are the three best things you can do to do your part. The bespoke new houses at Crew Green, as an example, average 3,000ftsq are anticipated to cost no more than £700 a year to heat. An average 2,000ftsq four-bedroom house on a normal development will cost in excess of £1,500 to heat. Therefore we are 50% bigger, we are 50% cheaper and we are 100% better (in my opinion!)”
